The Waterville metformin hcl 500 mg weight loss Shockers varsity baseball team traveled to Pateros April 5 for the first game of the season.
The 8-2 loss to the Billy Goats was not a lack of good defense but too little offense.
The one Waterville hit was credited to the pitcher Tate Newcomb, a freshman. The two runs for the Shockers came off a walk, an error and the hit.
“Newcomb pitched the entire game and did pretty well,” said coach Damian Smith. “He gave up only six hits, but they were timely with a few errors.
“We are playing okay defense, but our (lack of) hitting is killing us right now.”
Double loss came by poor hitting
Pateros came to Waterville April 9 for a turn-around double header and went away victorious over the poor hitting Shockers.
Pitcher Tate Newcomb took the first Shocker loss, 8-3, who started the game and had a bad third inning. He game up three walks and three hits in the third that made the difference. The Billy Goats put up six runs.
Shocker Jacob Sayan took the mound in the fifth inning and held Pateros to the eight runs to finish the game.
Coach Damian Smith said, “We only scored one more run in the fifth inning on a hit by Sayan. He stole two bases and scored on a error by their center fielder. We only had four hits in the game. Doubles by Jesse Tollackson and Cristian Munoz and singles by Jacob and Adam Schmitz.”
In the second game Munoz took the loss as pitcher, 6-1.
“He started off a little shaky in the first inning by giving up three walks and two hits,” Smith said.
Munoz scattered four more runs. Pateros was on top 6-0 by the sixth inning.
Waterville had three hits for the game by Sayan, Munoz and Russel Whitehall.
