Letters to the editor

Really not all-powerful

Occasionally I metformin side effects hair loss am awed by the power some individuals confer to me. I realize I can be a pest at times but I really cannot work miracles.

I cannot single handedly work my “editorial skills” to get a long-time elected official unseated. Nor can I use fluttering eyelashes and a coy smile to get speed limit signs posted in my road.

I know some of you are adamant about crediting me with these feats and others. I gladly take all credit because it looks very impressive in my “Most Powerful Woman in the Valley” résumé.

The sad truth is that with or without me, justice does sometimes prevail and speed limit laws will be enforced.

I am by no means asking you to quit giving me all of the credit. Absolutely not, because you need someone to focus your admiration and veneration on, and I am more than willing to continue to be that person.

Thank you for all of the power you have given me and for your continued support and constant thoughts.

I love this absolutely excellent letter Dixie! Great humor and sarcasm! It amazes me to no end how some people believe that their bit of power and rank in society should put them above the law – or above just being a decent human being and neighbor for that matter. Good for you for having the guts to stand up for the rest of us against folks like those this letter refers to. Give ‘em what for!
