100 years ago

Charles F. Kuhn, Claude Stanley and Steve Marney came down yesterday from Waterville to watch a ballgame in Wenatchee.

Mrs. E.R. Tyler of Brewster came down this morning on the boat to spend the day in Wenatchee.

50 years ago

Orondo fifth and sixth grade students have elected officers. They are Joe Sonney, president; Glen Davis, vice president; Nancy Davis, secretary; Michele Burton, treasurer; Richard Rosebeary, reporter; and Mike Burton and Terry Reid, room representatives.

R.A. Hensel of Waterville has been elected first vice president of the Washington Cattlemen’s Association.

25 years ago

Mansfield High School senior Douglas Poole won an all-expenses paid trip to Oak Ridge, Tenn., when he took first place May 3 in the statewide driver excellence competition sponsored by AMVETS and Dodge. Poole competed first at his own school. His Mansfield driving instructor is Steve Ricarte.

Laura Lambert, a senior at Eastmont High School, has received a $1,000 National Honor Society scholarship. This fall she plans to begin her studies of business administration at the University of Washington. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Lambert of East Wenatchee.

Brewster musicians Kevin Ekvall, trumpet, and Andy Hanson, French horn, will perform with classmates from the Upper Columbia Academy this Saturday at the Brewster Seventh-day Adventist church. More than 30 students from the school in Spangle, south of Spokane, will play sacred music at the service.

Dale Prey, son of Tom and Linda Prey of Orondo, graduated with honors from Westwood College of Aviation Technology in Broomfield, Colo. He holds a degree in airframe and power-plant technology and works for B.F. Goodrich Aerospace in Everett.
