James and Patty Jo Markel of East Wenatchee celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a June 4 open house.

Patty Jo Seals married James Markel on June 3, 1961, in Yakima.

They settled in Wenatchee during their marriage.

They are the parents of a daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Kirk Adamson of Clarkson; and one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Kim Markel of East Wenatchee.

He worked at Wells & Wade Mechanical in Wenatchee.

She worked at Dovex in Wenatchee.

The Markels have two grandchildren.
