Rogers’ Roundup: Fireworks the first of many July activities

Bit. Be sure to get your order in for the birthday calendar by July 15. The $5 cost for each order goes to the Waterville Booster Club to help with scholarships and extra school activities. Order through Susan Mittelstaedt at 745-8372.
Bridle. Town hall will be closed July 4, so the Waterville Town Council will meet on July 5 at 7:30 p.m.
Gee. The Waterville Food Bank is open July 7 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Senior Center on Central Avenue.
Haw. The Planning and Zoning Commission meeting is July 12 at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall council room.
Saddle Up. The Waterville Days festival is July 8 and 9.
Stirrup. The Wenatchee Youth Circus will perform in Waterville on July 9 at 5:30 p.m. and July 10 at 1:30 p.m.
Spurs. Fun for Kids day at Pioneer Park, sponsored by Chelan County PUD, is July 11 beginning at 10 a.m.
Jingle-Jangle. The North Central Regional Library will have a puppet show at the Waterville Public Library on July 20 at 10 a.m. and Aug. 15 at 10 a.m.
Git Along. Bilingual storyteller Deb McVay will be at the Waterville Public Library July 25 at 10 a.m.
Whoopityiyiyo. A closed umbrella symbolizes protection, and brings luck and security if it is placed near the front entrance of the house.
Parting Shots. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “I refuse to accept the idea that the ‘isness’ of man’s present nature makes him morally incapable of reaching up for the ‘oughtness’ that forever confronts him.”
