The spraying was originally scheduled for June 20, but the town did not receive permission to fly over the town at a lower altitude by that date.

Welcome sign
In other matters discussed at the June 20 meeting, council members voted unanimously to set a public hearing for a six-year street plan for Tuesday, July 5 at 7:30 p.m.
Chamber members Keith Soderstrom and Bruce Dawson came to the meeting to discuss a welcome sign project proposed by the chamber. Soderstrom said the sign the chamber has discussed would be located outside of town limits, and would not require maintenance. The town also printed out a version of a sign that it was considering putting up at the place where Highway 2 east turns onto Chelan Avenue.
Soderstrom said that he would inquire of state officials the requirements for placing town welcome signs. If the chamber erects the signs outside of town, they would be a volunteer project and would not cost the town money.
