The Sunday metformin hydrochloride generic name school convention for the Waterville District was held last weekend with about 200 people in attendance. There are 20 Sunday schools in Douglas County with 1,138 members. The Waterville District has five Sunday schools with 474 attending. Officers for the coming year are O.R. Engle, president; D. Eugene Hinchman, vice president; and D. Davidson, secretary-treasurer.
J.M. Stoddard, editor of the Bridgeport Republican, came down yesterday on the boat from Bridgeport and left on the early morning train for Spokane.
J.B. Valentine, who has expressed interest in the Brewster irrigation projects, came in last night and left on the morning boat for Bridgeport.

Bobby Clements and Sidney Viebrock have been chosen as representatives to Boys State from Waterville. Clements, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clements of Waterville, was named by the Waterville Lions Club, and Viebrock, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Viebrock of Douglas, was named by American Legion Leviathan Post 12 of Waterville.
After a vigorous statewide campaign, Douglas County commissioners have apparently landed some $120,000 in federal matching funds for the Greater Wenatchee Project building needs. The East Unit of the project is now under construction in the East Wenatchee area and the Brays
Landing unit will soon be under way above Orondo. Both will need extensive road building programs so residents will have access. Commissioners Eugene Weimerskirch, William Bechtol and Norman McLandress said the developments will require some 13 miles of arterial roadways, costing about $392,000. In addition, lateral roads will be needed, serving alternate 80-acre tracts in the irrigation units.

Three students of the Brewster Seventh-day Adventist School received eighth grade diplomas during a recent ceremony. They were Michelle Stout, class president, secretary and valedictorian; Chip Smith, vice president and sergeant-at-arms; and Doug Kirk, chaplain and treasurer.
Mansfield will stage its annual Play Day celebration on Saturday. Linda Bayless is chairwoman.
Darlene Culver, an instructional aide at Lee Elementary School, and Jane Spry, a kindergarten teacher at Lee, were recognized by the Eastmont School District for their contributions in furthering excellence in the district.

Douglas County Superior Court and Juvenile Court will move to the fairgrounds and East Wenatchee for 10 weeks while the courtroom in Waterville is renovated. It is part of the $3.9 million expansion and renovation of the Douglas County Courthouse.
Laurie Whitaker, a teacher’s aide at Rock Island Elementary School, has been awarded a Sen. Warren G. Magnuson Scholarship by the Washington Education Association. The $1,000 scholarship is given to three school support staff from around the state who are working to become teachers. Whitaker has been a teacher’s aide for 12 years and plans to attend Central Washington University.
