Okanogan County seeks suspect in homicide

Carlos Porras-Trujillo, 39, was found dead in an orchard north of Brewster on July 20. He had been fighting with another Gebbers Farms orchard worker on July 17, and didn’t show up for work the following day, said Sheriff Frank Rogers. He was reported missing and later found dead in the orchard.
An autopsy on July 21 determined he died from a head wound, Rogers said. “We believe it was from the fight,” he said.
The sheriff said other workers at a Gebbers Farms camp had seen Porras-Trujillo sleeping in his cabin the morning after the fight, but when they came back he was gone.
He said detectives think the man he was fighting with hid his body in the orchard and then fled.
They are still trying to determine what the two men were fighting about, and will try to get a warrant for the man’s arrest today, Rogers said.
