Waterville High School’ s new metformin er 1000 mg price football coach really isn’t new at all.

Mike Gray, the Shockers’ athletic director, will return to the sidelines this fall for his third head coaching stint at the school. Gray, who is also the Shockers’ golf coach, will take over for Mickey White, who resigned last month.

“I’m excited,” Gray said. “It will be nice to get back into it.”

Gray’s two prior stints as Waterville’s coach have totalled 14 years. He first coached the program in the early 1980s, then served as an assistant at Wenatchee Valley College for several years. He returned to Waterville after the Knights’ program was shut down and led the Shockers to four state tournament appearances in the early 2000s.

White, the coach of the Washington Football League’s Wenatchee Valley Rams, posted a 7-18 record in his three years as the Shockers’ coach. The team went winless last season.

“We’ve got to get our numbers up, and we’re approaching this as kind of a building year,” Gray said. “I want to stick to the fundamentals, because these kids are still devleoping. We have a few good athletes down in junior high. It will take a few years, but I’m expecting to get some pretty good kids as they get older. It’s just going to take a lot of hard work and patience.

“Some of these teams that we have in our league — Brewster, White Swan, Warden, a few of the others — might be kind of tough for our kids to go against because we’re not as big as those schools. (In the past), we had some pretty good years here, some pretty good kids. But when the population started to go down, we haven’t had as many kids turn out, and things got kind of tough.”

Chris Hill was tapped as an assistant coach. Hill was hired by the school last month as a history teacher and the head coach of the girls’ baskeball team.

Hill served as a football coach at Manson for two years.

“I get the question of (what my favorite sport is) on a daily basis,” Hill said. “I grew up as a football guy. I loved football. I went to college and started to like basketball and baseball. It just seems like I kind of go with the seasons. I’m just a sports guy. I like to coach all three sports. If I had to say, I’d say football is my favorite, with basketball and baseball together close behind.”

Gray said he accepted the position after a search didn’t bring in as many applicants as the school would’ve liked.

“It just seemed like a good fit,” Gray said. “It keeps everybody in house. We’re around the kids all day long, and I think that will help. I’m going to be there for a few more years, and then hopefully Chris is going to wind up being the long-term guy.”

The team’s first practice was Aug. 17. The Shockers’ first game will be Sept. 2 against Pateros.
