The Waterville metformin 500 mg buy High School volleyball team is off to a solid start this season, and one of the main reasons for that is the Shockers’ team mentality.
Taking a look at a stat sheet, it’s clear that Waterville is trying to receive contributions from just about everybody that’s out on the floor in one category or another.
The Shockers are going to rely on seniors Alyssa Moomaw, the setter, and Briana Hinderer, an outside hitter, to lead them. But if they’re going to become a serious contender this year, they’re going to need the contributions from the rest of the team to keep on coming.
“If you can have everybody on board with multiple kills and multiple aces, you’re definitely going to spread the responsibility around and be successful,” said Waterville coach Jill Moomaw. “Whenever we struggle, sometimes it comes to down trying to get Alyssa to figure out something that will work, and that puts her in a tough spot, and everybody tightens up and we’re not as effective as we should be. The goal would be to have everybody contributing.”
That goal has been met so far. In the team’s season opener, a 23-25, 25-17, 25-9, 25-10 loss to Almira/Coulee-Hartline, Hanna Clements had an ace, five digs, two kills and three assists; Diana Davila had one dig and six kills; Kamryn Shafer had seven kills; and Kathleen Schmitz had five kills to go along with Moomaw’s two aces, five kills and 13 assists and Hinderer’s nine digs and 10 kills.
On Saturday, the team took third place in the seven-team Bridgeport tournament, posting a 4-2 mark. On the day, Bailey Bromiley had one ace, two digs and two kills; Clements had four aces, two digs, two blocks, two kills and four assists; Davila had five blocks and six kills; Hinderer had two aces, seven digs and five kills; Moomaw had three aces, four digs, four kills and 24 assists; Schmitz had three kills; and Shafer had 10 blocks, four digs and 10 kills.
“A couple of players have been starting to show a more aggressive attack,” Moomaw said. “Shafer, when she connects, it’s quite a nice termination of the ball. Clements’ serving has come out of nowhere; she’s been really strong. Davila is very consistent when she’s in the game. Those three players have given me a real good feeling about where we’re headed.”
The Shockers will take on the Chelan C-squad on Saturday. The Goats’ varsity team, of the Caribou Trail League, won the 1A state championship last year.
“We’ve never played a C-squad in the past, but we got caught down on games this season, and you hate not being able to fill the schedule,” Moomaw said. “The pressure will be off, so we’ll take a look at some players that haven’t had a lot of playing time.”
But I expect every team in Chelan’s program to be competitive. I don’t think they’re just going to goof around. They will be good competition.”
