Proposals made for zoning changes
Posted by Empire Press on Sep 22, 2011 in All News, Town Council, Waterville | 0 commentsWaterville’ s planning metformin hydrochloride 1000 mg and zoning committee presented recommendations to town council members at their Sept. 19 meeting to allow caretaker’s residences in industrial or public use zones and to allow recreational vehicles as living quarters in legally established mobile home parks with access to showers and restrooms.
Town attorney Steve Smith advised council members that both recommendations would require amendments to the Waterville Municipal Code by ordinance.
Council members voted to table the proposal until Smith prepares an ordinance addressing the issue.
• Mayor Royal DeVaney and council members Bob Olin and Gert Snyder will meet with Sen. Linda Parlette, R-Wen., on Sept. 30 at the Town Toyota Center to discuss the center’s financial concerns, DeVaney said.
• The Washington Surveying & Rating Bureau has given Waterville a fire insurance rating of seven in an evaluation of the town’s fire protection capabilities, DeVaney said. Protection class ratings range from one to 10, with one denoting the highest rating. Out of a possible 5,000 points, Waterville scored 3,105. Water supply and communications were areas of deficiency in the evaluation, DeVaney said.
• Douglas County Undersheriff Don Culp reported that Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal has completed his training at the Federal Bureau of Investigation Academy in Virginia and is now home.
• Council members voted to set a public hearing for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at the town hall to hear public comment on ad valorem tax for 2012.
