Waterville football ‘puts up a good fight’

The Waterville metformin hcl side effects football team is looking to break a three-game losing skid tomorrow against White Swan.

The Shockers lost to Lake Roosevelt 46-13 on Friday, but they rode the bus home with some of them feeling that they held their own.

“They came out the second half and put up a good fight,” said coach Mike Gray.

When the Shockers trotted off the field at halftime, they were losing 34-7.

The second half was a different story, however — Waterville came back out with fight and refused to let the bigger team push them around. The

Shockers allowed just 12 points in the second half and scored six of their own.

Gray said Lake Roosevelt was a big team and they were playing on their own field.

The stats were in favor of Lake Roosevelt, but they were not as lopsided as the score. Lake Roosevelt had 318 yards of total offense to

Waterville’s 205 yards, and the Shockers held the Raiders to zero passing yards. Lake Roosevelt had 15 first downs to Waterville’s seven, and

Waterville turned the ball over three times while Lake Roosevelt had two turnovers.

Matt Deshazer rushed for 39 yards for the Shockers, with Wyatt Mires adding 35 yards, Jordan Burke 25 yards and Mitchell Clements six yards.
Clements was 4-of-8 passing for 87 yards. In the second quarter, Jamie Abrahmse caught a 60-yard pass for a touchdown from Clements, with Deschazer scoring the point-after conversion.

Clements scored the Shockers’ fourth quarter touchdown with a one-yard run.
