Boys downed in first home game

The outcome was in doubt until late in the game, said Coach Heath Jordan. “Waterville played well and led in the second half.
Liberty Bell surged late in the game and went away with a 54-40 victory. Liberty Bell sunk 23 free throws, and pressed the Shockers to tie up the Waterville offense, said Jordan.
Waterville led the game in the third quarter, but by the middle of the fourth quarter Liberty Bell was up by five points and the Shockers could not overcome the deficit.
The Shockers made five three-pointers to help keep Waterville in the game.
Walter Edgar was high scorer with 13 points and Robert Parcells added nine points. Marco Caballero was leading rebounder with eight.
Waterville stands 0-3 for the season and 0-2 in league play.
The Shockers face Pateros at home on Friday, Dec. 16, and will travel to Manson on Saturday for league games this weekend.
The junior varsity boys’ team lost their home opener to Liberty Bell 54-30.
