Lady Shockers take one, lose one

The team played very well all the way around, really coming together as a team. In the Kittitas game, the Shockers were able to come within two points at the half. Kittitas used their size advantage and took the game away from the Shockers with a final score of 64-39.

McKaylin Gormley had 11 points and 3 steals against the Coyotes. Alex Landon had 9 points and six rebounds. Kelsey Browning had 10 rebounds and 8 assists.

“We struggled early, but really got things going in the 2nd quarter,” Coach Chris Hill said. “I was really proud of the way the girls continued to battle in the second half.”

Manson scored the first points of the contest, and then the Shockers never looked back from there. They never trailed the Trojans and came out with an impressive victory of 37-27. The team really played well together, and every week they seem to be connecting more and more. They get better, and you can see the improvement each week.

Browning had 12 points to lead the Shockers. She also had 8 rebounds and 5 steals. Elaina Thompson had 10 points and 22 rebounds. That is the most rebounds any Shocker has had this season.

“The girls really played well as a team.” Coach Hill said. “I was especially proud of the contributions from Jessica Day and Julia Toomey.”
