The fans metformin weight loss dosage proved once again that they can help the team out, as the Shockers took one on the road Jan. 10 against the Entiat Tigers. It was a close one all the way to the end, with Waterville diving into double-digit deficits, until they were able to pull away and get some late 3-pointers by Robert Parcels. Good defense and solid shooting helped them to a 55-52 win.
Parcels and Walter Edgar both had 15 points to lead the Shockers. Jamie Abrahamse had 14 points. Marco Caballero had 11 rebounds, 8 of them were offensive. He also had 4 steals.
This is the Shockers first league win, and a step towards their goal of districts this year.
“It was a hard fought win, and a well-deserved one at that,” Coach Heath Jordan said after the game. “We finally got one to go our way at the end. All year, these nail-biters have been losses. Now we know what it feels like to take one for our own.” He seemed really excited after the game, as were the fans. “We had good fans. It’s very exciting to see everyone there to support us.”
Jordan also said that the Shockers have been working hard in practice.
“Everyone is showing up and giving their all every day.”
They also played the White Swan Cougars on Jan. 13. The Shockers were able to come out and play with them for the first few minutes, but the Cougars got to them and took the game away. Waterville couldn’t get their offense to run after White Swan figured out what was going on, and couldn’t get any shots. They shot for 29 percent in the 70-30 loss.
Edgar had 11 points and Abrahamse had 7. Abrahamse also had 6 rebounds to lead the team.
White Swan is a very fast and strong team. It’s no wonder they are ranked No. 4 in the league right now. “They deserve that rank, if not better,” said Jordan. “We played hard, but they’re just a well-rounded team. We handled the press fairly well and we were able to jump out quick and strike fast. White Swan was able to figure out what we were doing and jump on us. We weren’t ready.”
White Swan also shot for 56 percent, which is very good. “We can’t let teams do that.” Jordan said.
The Shockers JV team also had some good games, with two losses coming from matches with Entiat and White Swan. Both games were close until the end.
Waterville plays Manson at home tomorrow.
