We want to foster civil community discussions on our site. To that end, we have a series of rules to follow if you want to participate. If you violate any of these rules, your post will be removed. If you repeatedly violate any of these rules, you will be blocked from commenting on this site entirely.
This site is meant to be appropriate for people of all ages, including children, to read. In that vein, we do not allow cursing or inappropriate language of any kind. If you wouldn’t read it in front of a two-year-old, don’t say it on here.
We do not allow personal attacks of any kind. This means no name-calling, and no accusations, additional information, or gossip about people mentioned in stories, or fellow commenters.
Stay on topic. If the discussion starts veering too far away from the subject of the story, comments will be frozen. We’re not quite as strict about this rule, as long as the discussion is remaining civil. If it’s not, we’ll shut down the thread.
We do not allow attacks against employees of the Douglas County Empire Pres. Feel free to email us at weekly@empire-press with concerns, comments, or if you just need to vent about something, but posting complaints on a story is off-topic, and they will be removed.
We have a no-tolerance policy for obscene or sexual material of any kind. If you post a link to explicit material elsewhere, you will be immediately banned.
The above rules also apply to user names. If your user name contains a reference to obscene or sexual acts or is disguised cursing, you will be immediately banned.
This website belongs to the Douglas County Empire Press, and we reserve the right to remove any comment or block any commenter for any or no reason at all. If you want to be “more colorful”, there is no shortage of ways that you can set up your own blog on the internet for free.
