Bridgeport awarded Stronger Schools grant

WENATCHEE — Bridgeport Elementary School is among 12 North Central Washington schools recently awarded Stronger Schools grants by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington.

The grant program provides up to $5,000 to enrich school experiences for students, provide seed funding for new and creative programs, and supports opportunities to achieve goals for PreK-12 public schools in Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan counties. This is the first year of the Stronger School grant program at the foundation.

Bridgeport Elementary School received $5,000 to provide all students with leveled academic summer packets that give them the opportunity continue working on basic grade-level skills during the summer.

Other schools receiving grants were Cascade High School in Leavenworth, Okanogan Middle School, Tonasket Elementary and Middle schools, Clovis Point Intermediate School, Foothills Middle School, John Newbery Elementary School, Lincoln Elementary School, Mission View Elementary, WestSide High School and Wenatchee High School.
