Grand opening ceremonies for Rocky Reach Trail

OLYMPIA  — The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission will celebrate the grand opening of the Rocky Reach Trail near Wenatchee on July 9.

The public event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the soccer field near the Rocky Reach Trailhead at Lincoln Rock State Park, 13253 Highway 2. State and local officials and members of the Complete the Loop Coalition will speak.

Participants are encouraged to wear walking shoes or bring bicycles and helmets to explore the trail after the ceremony. Refreshments will be provided.

Link Transit also is partnering with State Parks to provide a bus for tours of the trail for those with disabilities or who are mobility-impaired.

The Rocky Reach Trail is a five-mile, non-motorized recreation trail that connects the Apple Capital Loop Trail in East Wenatchee to Lincoln Rock State Park. For more information, visit completetheloopcoalition.org.
