In two quick finish games April 9, the Kittitas Coyotes jumped out ahead of the Waterville/Mansfield Shockers and remained there. The scores were 17-2 and 15-0.

Waterville/Mansfield benefited from a flurry of walks in the second inning of the first game and turned them into a couple of runs. Patty Garnica led off with a base on balls, then Haylee Newcomb followed suit. Laura Shriner also walked. Cora Dills walked to force in a run. Haley Henson struck out, but when the dropped ball was thrown to first, Newcomb ran in from third base for a run. The Shockers got three runners on base with walks in the third inning as well, but were unable to get any of them across the plate.

Ari Salcido pitched both games. Newcomb played both games at third base. Sarah Velasquez split her innings between catcher and right field. Basi Jiminez divided her time between center field and left field. Addie Tonseth played in right field and at first base. Dills played both left field and shortstop.

The girls schedule from here on is very similar to the boys until the last two doubleheaders. They will play White Swan at home April 15. The games begin at 3 p.m. They will then play at Warden April 23 at 11 a.m. Soap Lake will be at Waterville on April 30 at 11 a.m. The Shockers will travel to Almira Coulee-Hartline on May 3 at 3 p.m. They will play at Mabton May 7 beginning at 11 a.m.
