WATERVILLE — A shorthanded Waterville squad fell to visiting Lake Roosevelt, 42-7, as both teams opened their seasons with a CW2B League matchup Sept. 2.

Playing with only 17 players, the Shockers couldn’t get much going offensively, finishing with just 143 total yards. The Raiders had no such issues, racking up 471 yards, 321 of which came on 52 carries. Lake Roosevelt quarterback Steven Flowers was the star of the show, finishing with 293 total yards. Waterville coach Tayn Kendrick thought his team showed fight throughout the game despite the lopsided scoreline, and he will try to get the Shockers on track next week when they visit Soap Lake.

Highlights: Lake Roosevelt — Flowers (10-28, 150 passing, TD; 18-143 rushing), Nathaniel Hall (20-128 rushing). Waterville — Tanner Marden (3-12 rushing; 1-40 receiving, TD), Jacob Stibal (5-15, 95 passing, TD).
