The Waterville/Mansfield football team traveled to Tonasket Sept. 23 and lost to the Tigers, 48-8.

“We lost 48-8 to a good team, but our boys played hard the entire game,” said Tayn Kendrick, Shocker assistant coach and athletic director.

Kendrick added that Angel Lucero ran hard and freshman Tristen Marden threw the ball well in his first varsity start at quarterback.

Defensively, the Shockers had multiple players doing what was asked of them including junior Miles Mittlestaedt.

“We still have a lot to improve on, but it is nice to see the players making strides on what we have been talking about each week. We are continuing to work hard,” Kendrick said.

The Shockers have a bye this week and will meet Manson Oct. 7 at Kellen Biggar Field for homecoming.
