WINTHROP — The visiting Waterville/Mansfield football team was close to getting its second Central Washington 2B League win of the season, but ultimately could not get over the hump in a close 22-16 loss to Liberty Bell in Winthrop on Oct. 14.

The loss brings the Shockers’ record to 1-5 in league play.

Waterville will welcome in a struggling Brewster team to Kellen Bigger Memorial Field on Oct. 21 with a chance to notch another league win before heading to league-leading Oroville for the season finale.

Waterville assistant coach Tayn Kendrick could not be reached for comment.
