Shockers take one of four against Pateros

WATERVILLE — Waterville/Mansfield’s baseball and softball teams took on Pateros in a pair of doubleheaders at home April 29.

In Game 1 for the boys, Pateros starter Logan Robinson pitched an outstanding game to lead the Billygoats to a seven-run win. Pateros totaled 11 hits in the game. The Shockers fell to their visitors 3-10.

Waterville/Mansfield roughed up Pateros pitching in Game 2 to build a 13-2 lead after the second inning. The Billygoats also came alive at bat with 15 hits in the game, but the Shockers took advantage of a couple of badly timed Pateros errors to build a big lead and held on for a 16-9 win.

Highlights: Pateros — Game 1: Logan Robinson (win; 2-3). Dakota Poole (2-4), Tag Easter (2-4), Zane Dodge (3-3). Game 2: Max Ewing (3-4), Poole (2-3), Easter (3-5), Piechalski (3-3).

For the girls, Nannies coach John Slater said his team played 14 innings of complete effort softball in two dominating performances. Aubrey Miller once against shined in the circle, striking out 17 in two complete-game three-hitters.

Pateros took both games from the Shockers, 9-2 and 11-2.
