Pictorial Past | Bridgeport pool

The water is always warm in Bridgeport’s new swimming pool in June of 1960. It’s heated with water from nearby Chief Joseph Dam. The pool had been in the works for about four years, a collaborative effort between the community and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The warm water is supplied after it has cooled the dam’s generators. (Provided photo/Wenatchee World archives)
