The Waterville/Mansfield Shockers volleyball teams hosted the Lake Roosevelt Raiders Sept. 12. Both the junior varsity and varsity squads lost their matches.

The JVs, under coach Jill Moomaw, lost the first two sets but they were very close with scores 26-28 and 22-25. But the third set went to the Shockers, 25-18.

The varsity had a more difficult time against the Raiders losing all three sets, 17-25, 22-25 and 12-25.

The Raiders are a well-disciplined team with more height than the Shockers.

Head coach Melissa Flaget said, “More conditioning and practice ball handling. Every game the girls play hard.”
