The Waterville/Mansfield Shocker volleyball teams were host to the Manson Trojans Sept. 26.

Due to a scheduling error, there were no referees available so the varsity match was rescheduled.

The junior varsity match was played as planned with the varsity coaches judging the games. The coaches also decided to have the teams play five sets instead of the normal three.

Waterville/Mansfield won the match, 3-2. The Shockers took the first two sets, 25-7 and 25-9. The third set went to the Trojans 19-25. The Shockers came back to take the fourth set 25-20. The final set of a five-set match is played to just 15 points to win. The Trojans won 12-15.

Shockers JV coach Jill Moomaw said, “It was a fun night.”

Brooke Simmons had 13 good serves of 14, Brooke Willms had 13 of 15, Taylor Schoenberg had 12 of 12 and 1 kill, and Codee Fry had 12 of 14 successful serves with 3 kills and 6 digs.
