The three Waterville churches — the Federated Church, United Lutheran and St. Joseph Catholic — have come together to form a community choir along with a children’s choir to perform the Christmas cantata “A Blest Messiah Born” by Larry Shackley.

The performance is open to the community and will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Federated Church.

The cantata tells the true Christmas story through timeless carols and narrations. A children’s choir will also be performing to tell the Christmas story as only children can do.

The cantata is being directed by Phyllis Browning and accompanied by Dee Shriner on piano from the Federated Church.
