Special Olympics Winter Games in town March 2-4

WENATCHEE — The Special Olympics Winter Games are coming to North Central Washington March 2-4.

The Winter Games brings together athletes and unified partners from throughout the state for the culminating winter season competition to be held in Wenatchee and in Leavenworth.

Competition, March 3-4, will be held in basketball, Nordic and Alpine skiing, speed and figure skating, snowboarding, snowshoeing and cheerleading.

Other events include the opening ceremonies at 7 p.m. March 2 at the Town Toyota Center; and a victory dance from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. March 3 at the Wenatchee Convention Center. Volunteer opportunities are also available.
