Events showcase local writers

NCW — Writers of all skill levels are invited to read their work at these three events in May:

  • Stop by Ye Olde Bookshoppe in Wenatchee Wednesdays at 6 p.m.for an informal open mic session designed to bring local writers together. For more information, call 888-6306 or visit yeoldbooks.com.
  • Write on the River will host a Four Minutes of Fame reading event today, 7 p.m. at Bob’s Burgers & Brew in East Wenatchee. The free reading and social gathering will feature the winning stories from the organization’s 2018 writing contest. Anyone can sign up for an opportunity to read by emailing Susan Lagsdin at info@writeontheriver.org.
  • Poets can sign up for five minutes at the mic during the May 30 Shrub-Steppe Poetry Podium at RadarStation. The event runs from 3 to 4 p.m. Sign up to read with Susan Blair at sfblair61@gmail.com.
