Pictorial Past | Fletcher school

A low fall sunset casts a long shadow off the derelict remains of the old Fletcher Schoolhouse during the late 1970s. Long gone are the rumblings of children playing and learning at this once proud little structure. A few years after this photo was taken, the building was torn down and farmed over, erasing any evidence it existed. The school was located 12 miles northeast of Waterville between Road I N.W. and Road J N.W. on Road 9 N.W. Marjorie McGrath photo. (Information and provided photo/Darrin Nelson)
