Douglas County Sheriff’s Report

July 6

Bridgeport, burglary: 1800 block of Conklin Street, someone forced entry into a home through a side door. One gold ring was reported missing. Other property had been piled in the mud room.

July 8

Bridgeport, drugs: 1700 block of Foster Creek Avenue, a deputy was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle parked with an unknown subject leaning into the rear driver’s side window. Based on his observations and recent drug activity in the area, the deputy parked his patrol vehicle around the corner and walked up to the vehicle. He could see drug paraphernalia on the front center console. The initial investigation led to the arrest of Martin Saucedo Espinoza, 22, of Mesa, for possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia. Espinoza was booked into the Okanogan County Jail on those charges without incident. A continuation of the investigation resulted in the arrest of Christopher Rodriguez, 21, of Bridgeport, on July 17 for possession of a controlled substance. Rodriguez was booked into the Okanogan County Jail without incident.

July 10

Orondo, malicious mischief: someone cut a tarp and a boat cover and stole fuel from the boat. There are no suspects or leads.

July 12

Waterville, assault: 100 block of Hummingbird Road, Justin J. Avey, 42, of Waterville was charged with assault in the fourth degree for head-butting an individual in the stomach. Avey was booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center.

July 13

Orondo, weapons violation: Highway 97, Milepost 217, there was a report of two individuals engaging in target practice. The reporting party was concerned about the fire hazard. The deputy was unable to locate the individuals.

July 14

Bridgeport, fireworks: 200 block of Foster Creek Avenue, the sheriff’s office received a report of fireworks being discharged. A deputy arrived at the location and found individuals setting off illegal fireworks. The fireworks were confiscated and destroyed.

July 15

Bridgeport, property: Bridgeport Marina RV Park, a .22-caliber rifle was found in the park. It was taken into possession by the sheriff’s office until the owner could be located.
