Aug. 15

Rock Island, vehicle prowl: Highway 28, Milepost 8, fenders were removed from a victim’s vehicle following a verbal altercation. The victim also found that a rear camera, a hitch and some lights were stolen from the vehicle. The case has been sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.

Aug. 16

Rock Island, vehicle prowl: 5500 block of Rock Island Road, pry marks were found on a vehicle. The vehicle was not entered. There are no suspects.

Aug. 18

Bridgeport, graffiti: 1100 block of Columbia Avenue, black spray paint was found on the wall of a store. There is video footage available which is being reviewed to see if suspects can be identified.

Aug. 20

Bridgeport Bar, trespass: 200 block of Arden Avenue, Ronny Valdovinos, 27, of Brewster, was arrested on counts of first-degree trespassing, second-degree trespassing and resisting arrest for trespassing at two residences owned by people he knew and for resisting arrest following the incidents.

Orondo, disturbance: 10 block of Higgins Loop, a resident noticed a red truck with a double trailer speeding on his private road. He followed the truck until it stopped. The driver was argumentative and the resident left the scene. By the time the deputy arrived, the resident said that he had contacted the owner of the truck, who was the driver’s employer, and had resolved the situation.

Aug. 21

Bridgeport, theft: Bridgeport High School, the school principal reported that 18 white, black and orange volleyballs valued at $22 each had been taken from the school since July 26. The case is under investigation.

Aug. 22

Mansfield, burglary: Highway 17 and Highway 174, a state Department of Transportation employee reported malicious mischief to an agency shed. A chain on a gate into the yard was cut and there was damage to the roll-up doors on the shed. It appeared that somebody had entered the shed, but nothing inside was missing or damaged. There are no suspects.

Bridgeport, assault: 1700 block of Foster Creek Avenue, four women forced their way into an apartment and pushed an occupant of the apartment backwards. The victim bumped her forehead above the left eye when she fell. After the incident, the victim noticed that her phone was missing. She did not wish to pursue charges.

Orondo, theft: Highway 97 and Orondo Spur Road, a foreman reported a white truck was on orchard property and that the occupants were taking fruit. He said that this had been a recurring problem. When the deputy arrived, two individuals with the truck had a bucket of nectarines valued at $50 in the back of the truck. The individuals were cited for second-degree trespassing and third-degree theft and were released with a court date.

Bridgeport Bar, prowler: 10 block of Washburn Avenue, the reporting party said that someone had pulled up in front of his house and had rattled the front door. Then two individuals had gone to the back porch and had stolen a pack of cigarettes through an open window. There are no suspects.

Aug. 23

Bridgeport, vehicle prowl: 900 block of Maple Street, an unlocked vehicle was entered during the night and a stereo was taken. There are no suspects.

Bridgeport Bar, no injury accident: 600 block of Dyer Hill Road, a semi-truck driver got lost on the road and was stuck. The driver walked four miles to try to find help. A deputy located him and gave him a ride to a hotel. As of Aug. 24, tow trucks were working to remove the vehicle.
