Remembrance walk set for Sept. 15

WENATCHEE — The Compassionate Friends Wenatchee Valley Chapter will host its annual Walk to Remember on Sept. 15 at Walla Walla Point Park. The event will help memorialize children and loved ones who have died and help bereaved families in their journey through grief.

The two-mile “gentle” walk will start and end at Shelter 1 at the park and is open to anyone who has lost a child or a loved one.

Registration is required and will begin at 9 a.m., with opening remarks and a memorial wreath ceremony at 10 a.m., and the walk will follow. The event will also include a balloon release, lunch and quilt raffle. Participants are also encouraged to bring their child’s or loved one’s favorite dessert to share.

There is no cost to participate but donations are welcome. All registered participants receive a T-shirt and a race-style bib. A pre-registration form will be available at tcfwenatcheevalley.org closer to the event.
