Apple Blossom royalty candidates announced

WENATCHEE/EAST WENATCHEE — Thirty-two teenage girls have been selected to compete for a spot on the 2019 Washington State Apple Blossom Festival Royal Court.

Candidates from Eastmont High School are Lucy Gomez, Zoey Sorenson, Elizabeth Popoff, Whitney Lane, Cassandra Gow, Victoria Salling, Sequoia Stagg, Acadia Rice, Cassidy Cunningham, Lorena Zepeda, Torrance Pearson and Citlali Gonzalez-Arroyo.

Candidates from Wenatchee High School are Paola Silva, Tania Ocampo-Castro, Jess Gutierrez, Karissa Long, Lainie Johnston, Megan Creek, Morgan Narby, Olivia Lancaster, Ellie Toth, Maria Elena Pepito Metzger, Isabel Pelayo, Bailey White, Savannah Slife, Cassandra Noyd, Karina Sapozhnikova, Micaela Salgado, Sophia Dillon, Laura Dagg, Adi Mathison and Flor Gonzalez.

The candidates will be honored at a Jan. 8 reception at the Numerica Performing Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.

The Top 10 candidates will be named at 6 p.m. Jan. 9 at the PAC. That event is also free and open to the public.

The pageant to select a queen and two princesses is set for 7 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Wenatchee High School Auditorium. Reserved tickets for the pageant, at $25 for lower-level seating and $20 for upper-level seating, go on sale Jan. 14 at the Apple Blossom Festival office, 2 S.
