Shocker girls take road win over Cascade Christian Academy

Waterville/Mansfield teams took to the road for a non-league contest with Cascade Christian Academy Dec. 7

The girl’s junior varsity team came out on top over CCA, 38-22. Shocker highlights included Haley Vargas, 18 points; Bailey Viebrock, 9 points; Katelyn Donaglia, 7 points; and Joslyn Lucero, 4 points. There were five successful free throws out of 12 attempts.

The varsity Shocker girls played well even with two players out with injuries. Waterville/Mansfield defeated the Wolverine girls 48-27. Highlights for Waterville/Mansfield included Elizabeth Katovich, 11 points; Ella Osborne, 11 points; Sarah Mullen, 10 points; Presley Avenell, 6 points; Mckenna Gurnard, 5 points; Codee Reid, 4 points; and Joslyn Lucero, 1 point. There were eight successful free throws on 15 attempts.

The Waterville/Mansfield junior varsity boys took a loss from CCA, 42-27. Statistics for the boy’s included Yovanni Baltazar, 8 points; Mateus Mullen, 5 points; Eli Van Lith, 5 points; Ben Hanson, 3 points; Braydon Murison, 2 points; Jack Katovich, 2 points; and Travis Prey, 2 points.

The Shocker varsity boys lost a close one to the Wolverines. The final score was 38-32. Shocker statistics included Kayden Browning, 12 points; Tristen Marden, 7 points; Angel Lucero, 5 points; Thomas Moser, 4 points; Mauricio Negrete, 2 points; Kody Angus, 1 point; and Kyler Borden, 1 point. The Shockers did well rebounding with seven offensive rebounds and 20 defensive rebounds.
