Waterville/Mansfield’s basketball teams traveled up the Methow Valley to face Liberty Bell on Jan. 11.

The Shocker varsity girls, in spite of having a couple of players out with injuries, had just two losses before this game — both against Brewster. They defeated Liberty Bell earlier in the season but lost this game, 51-60.

Scoring statistics for the Shockers were Ella Osborne, 24 points, 7 rebounds; Elizabeth Katovich, 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists; Codee Reid, 7 points; Sarah Mullen, 5 points, 4 assists; Alex Poppie, 2 points; and Mckenna Gurnard, 2 assists. For Liberty Bell the top two scorers were Jadyn Mitchell, 25 points, and Sammy Curtis, 14 points.

Waterville/Mansfield’s record was 7-3 in CW2B league play as of Jan. 11.

Waterville/Mansfield’s girls junior varsity team also lost to Liberty Bell, 18-37.

Scoring highlights were Haley Vargas, 7 points; Katelyn Donaglia, 4 points; Joslyn Lucero, 4 points; and Alexa Garcia, 3 points.

The varsity boys won a close contest over the Mountain Lions, 40-39. Waterville/Mansfield’s record was 1-9 as of Jan. 11 in CW2B league play.

Scoring highlights were Tristen Marden, 14 points; Angel Lucero, 8 points; Kayden Browning, 7 points; Kyler Borden, 5 points; Kody Angus, 4 points; and Thomas Moser, 2 points. The Shockers made 3 of 8 free throw attempts.

The Shocker junior varsity boys won their game over the Liberty Bell, 38-27. Statistics were not available.
