After 30 years working as a nurse at Waterville Clinic, Anita Sprauer retired Feb. 1. A party was held for her that afternoon at the clinic.

Well-wishers came by to congratulate Sprauer, to thank her for her years of service and to celebrate with cake and punch.

Joyce Huber was among those attending.

“She’s always been efficient and good with her job,” Huber said.

Sprauer was hired in 1989, the same year that Physician’s Assistant Craig Christopher started. Christopher stayed for 18 years.

Sprauer said she enjoyed working close to home and being a part of rural health care in Waterville.

“Everybody pitches in to handle the situation. There’s a lot of teamwork,” Sprauer said.

In her retirement, Sprauer plans to help her husband Joe with their wheat farm and to spend more time with her grandchildren.
