Shockers travel to Tonasket

Waterville-Mansfield faced the Tonasket Tigers in an away game on Jan. 25.

The boys?junior varsity and varsity teams, and the girls junior varsity lost to the Tigers but the girls varsity added another win to their CW2B conference record.

The junior varsity?boys had a?difficult night, succumbing to Tonasket?25-62.

Scoring highlights were Ben Hanson, 11 points; Yovanni Baltazar, 6 points; Travis Prey, 4 points, Payton Mulanax, 2 points; and Braydon Murison, 2 points.

The varsity boys had problems with ball handling and passing, and the quickness of the Tigers took advantage of that. The Shockers came up short, 38-56.?Waterville-Mansfield made two 3-point shots and just?4 of?11 free throw attempts.

Scoring highlights were Kayden Browning, 12 points; Angel Lucero, 9 points; Tristen Marden, 7 points; Evan Simmons, 6 points; and Anthony Ochoa, 4 points. High scorers for the Hornets?were?Ryker?Ayers, 18 points; and?Ethan Smith, 15 points.

The Shocker?junior varsity girls lost their game, 25-36.?No further information was available.

The varsity girls team, showing improvement every week, dominated their game.?Their final score more than doubled that of the Tigers, 63-30. The Tigers committed numerous fouls of which?Waterville/Mansfield made 18 points off of the 28 free throw attempts, making 64?percent of their free throws. The Shocker girls also made seven 3-point shots.

Scoring statistics were Sarah Mullen, 18 points; Elizabeth Katovich, 17 points; Codee Reid, 9 points; Ella Osborne, 7 points; McKenna Gurnard, 7 points; and Meredith Mittelstaedt, 5 points.
