Link Transit recruiting ambassadors

WENATCHEE — Link Transit is recruiting students to assist in its marketing and outreach efforts through its Transit Ambassador program.

Now in its 12th year, the Transit Ambassador program is designed to give students a better understanding of the value of public transportation, the environmental and financial benefits that public transportation provides to communities, and how to better utilize public transit to access work, school, and recreational opportunities.

Transit Ambassadors will also assist in creating a marketing and promotional campaign targeted at attracting youth riders to public transportation.

Transit Ambassadors may come from any school within Link’s service area. Any student who will be 14 or older by the application deadline of March 29 is eligible. Applications are available online at linktransit.com.

Applicants must submit a photo of themselves, and write an essay of 200 words or less on the benefits of public transit. Students selected as Transit Ambassadors must attend orientation on April 6, and assist in promoting Link services and student pass programs during school registration events.

Transit Ambassadors will receive a free student bus pass, training on handling frequently asked transit questions, and act as a student representative within their school and the community to promote bus pass sales.
