Orondo Community Church is sponsoring Wild West Adventures July 16-18 for elementary age children.

The adventures are being held midweek  — Tuesday through Thursday — in order to accommodate families who go camping or participate in other weekend family activities.

The fun will begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon each day. Children entering grades 1-5 will participate in western-themed activities geared to their age level.

Stories, crafts, games and refreshments will be included in each day’s adventure.

Wild West activities will include education on the care of horses and western equipment as well as opportunities to ride a horse or pet a pony.

A professional roper will demonstrate roping tricks and teach children simple roping which they can practice and learn to accomplish.

On the final day of the program, parents, grandparents, siblings and friends are invited to watch the children perform in a program at 11:30 a.m., followed by a chuckwagon lunch.

All elementary children are welcome to join the fun.

The church is located at 13966 Highway 2 in Orondo.

Registration for Wild West Adventures is open at form.jotform.com/91215486300147.

The fee is $5 per child or $15 for a family with more than three elementary age children. Scholarships are available. Space is limited, so register early.
